This year’s Latin Grammy’s are fast approaching. The 9th Annual Latin Grammy Awards will be held November 13 at the Toyota Center in Houston, TX and broadcast live on Univision Network. Gloria Estefan will be honored as the 2008 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year.
Leading up to the Awards, the Latin Recording Academy and Univision continue to partner on their annual “Street Parties,” interactive events bringing live music, product displays and sampling to fans in the top U.S. Hispanic markets like Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami and New York. The multi-city festival is run by Eventus Marketing Inc., a Miami-based Hispanic event marketing and promotions group, and showcases well-known Latin recording artists and emerging talent from Latino musical genres such as reggaetón, regional Mexican, pop, rock en Español and tropical. These events allow marketers like McDonald's, Sears, Verizon Wireless, State Farm and Gibson Musical Instruments to get their products and services directly into the hands of Latin music lovers. Media partners for Latin Grammy Street Parties include Al Día; El Nuevo Herald; Impremedia's La Raza, El Diario La Prensa, and La Opinión; Univision TV, Univision Radio and Univision Online.
