MillerCoors (a joint venture of SABMiller plc and Molson Coors Brewing Company) announced two special multicultural sponsorships today.
Coors Light Líderes partnered with the Alameda County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Oakland, CA to recognize emerging leaders in the Hispanic community. Ten individuals, selected for their leadership and desire to make a difference in their communities, will participate in the Hispanic Business Education and Training, Inc., (HBET) Latino Leadership Symposium. The Coors Light Líderes Program, started in 2006, provides leadership development training to Latino and Latina business and community leaders throughout the United States. Over 500 leaders have received Lideres training so far.
MillerCoors is also sponsoring the Bank of America Atlanta Football Classic, helping 100 Black Men of America raise millions of dollars for its Project Success scholarship program. Project Success provides at-risk African-American youth with post-secondary preparation and tuition assistance. Moses Brewer, MillerCoors multicultural relations manager, says: "Project Success is a perfect example of the type of high-reach, high-impact community outreach program that MillerCoors believes benefits the communities we serve.”
